By taking part in the YSL Programme, young people will inspire, lead and mentor their peers through the creation and delivery of STEM activities, events and interaction within education establishments or local community groups. The key aim is to facilitate the development of peer STEM role models to inspire more young people to develop an interest in STEM. As well as developing important personal skills that are increasingly in demand from employers, working through the programme will motivate YSLs to progress their STEM studies and potentially embark on a related career in STEM. The Programme is available at CfE Second, Third and Fourth Levels, underpinned by a framework that identifies the skills, knowledge and behaviours expected of a YSL at each curricular level. At SCQF levels 4, 5 and 6 it is a formally accredited and certificated award, underpinned by learning outcomes and performance criteria for each level. CfE Second Level and SCQF Level 6 frameworks are currently being piloted across Scotland. The YSL Project Team will be on the stand all day to discuss the programme further! Thoughout the conference there will be a representative from the STEM Ambassador Team and a range of activites from the SSERC Team, see image above for programme or news page on
